Welcome to Quay Street Stories

The team who created Pitt Street Poetry is spreading its wings.

Over the next few months two new imprints will be established – Cliff Street Crime, a new home for classic detective fiction and whodunnits, and Quay Street Stories – where you are right now – which will focus on suppporting and sharing the new wave of global enthusiasm for short fiction.

PSP has published 61 poetry books over the last twelve years, from 30 poets – mainly in Australia, but also in the UK, Poland, and Iceland. It has become an established, valued part of the poetry publishing landscape. Over that period, PSP has won Australia’s most recognised prize, the Prime Minister’s Literary Award for Poetry, twice and been short listed for a raft of others. Prizes are a traditional way of measuring recognition and response in the literary community. Closer to our hearts is the affection and esteem which, rather to our surprise, we have come to enjoy from the poetry loving community – now that’s a prize really worth having.

So our aim for this new imprint is to take what we have learned about publishing poetry and apply it more broadly. If this ambitious new endeavour interests you as a reader – or as a writer – we encourage you warmly to join the mailing list and monitor develoments as the task proceeds.
